New Zealand wine exports continue to grow and are well on target to reach $2 billion by 2020.
The US market has seen New Zealand wines reach number 3, up 6% on 2016, with US sales reached US$422 million in 2017.
New Zealand is ahead of countries like Australia and Chile, however both France and Italy lead the way in wine sales in the US.
With New Zealand’s reputation for making premium wines it comes as no surprise that Sauvignon Blanc leads the way as a favourite for US drinkers. This is strongly supported by Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris and Syrah.
