Matakana Olive Oil
The Matakana Coast region, just north of Auckland, is characterised by its heavy clay soils and warm east coast climate.We have collectively harvested and crushed the olives to extract just the first press oil.
The Frantoio, Leccino and J5 olives characterise the Italian varieties that grow well in our climate and give the oil its fresh glossy flavour. The hardy Greek Koroneiki olives grow tiny olives which produce oil with a strong peppery taste.
This wonderful blend makes Matakana Extra Virgin Olive Oil into a medium blend with sensational taste on bread, salads or pasta.
