The idea for providing the personalised wine label product came after the owner Bart Isbey met a Golden Oldies Rugby Team member that funded travel by selling its own special edition port.

 In ten years the company has grown to stock wines from some of the biggest wineries in New Zealand. Along the way the Oak & Whale has developed wine and food personalised gift packs which utilise the kato brand of food and sauce items. The latest edition is a pine hamper, which is loaded with exciting food and wine options.

 The third option, the Oak & Whale offers just food personalised in handy attractive gift boxes, like the Big Boys BBQ –foods and sauces to go with a BBQ. The food items stay in people’s refrigerators for long periods and remind people who gave them this gift.
